Great shot, Ron! I empathize with all your memories of wood chopping and hauling and the delicious homemade bread with homemade butter made in a fruit jar. And peanut butter was a luxurious addition! :). v/f

Artist's Description

"The Wood Hauler" is yet another photo taken at the Acadian Settlement of Kings Landing in New Brunswick, Canada. I have taken many shots in this area over the years...starting back in the early 1970's for paintings that I do from them. This is a way of life that inspires me...the calm simple departure for the race we all seem to get caught up in. It also,(the way of life) inspired my poem "The Cost".in my "Poetry Art Cards" Gallery. I invite you to read an share the feeling.
King's Landing is a recreation of a New Brunswick town from the period of 1780-1910. It was created around buildings that were saved and moved to make way for the headpond for the Mactaquac Dam.

It was primarily settled by Anglo-American Loyalists from the Thirteen Colonies, who were called the United Empire Loyalists in Canada; Scottish, Irish and English immigrants were early settlers as well. It is approximately 40 km west of Fredericton, New Brunswick in the community of Lower Prince William.
